How to clean a dishwasher?

Cleaning a dishwasher regularly is a good habit for optimal dishwashing and to avoid major problems such as the dishwasher jamming with all the accumulated debris. Do you know how often you should do this?

Each day:

Ideally, remove leftover food from dishes before putting them in the appliance. If there is any solid food left in the dishwasher, remove it daily. When doing this, you need to pay attention to the rubber and the door seals, which can accumulate more food scraps.

Once a week:

Clean the dishwasher filter to prevent clogging or blockage of the drain pump. It is also important to clean the detergent dispenser in your dishwasher.

Semi-annual:

Remove the blades and clean the slots to prevent lime deposits or other particles from clogging the injectors and the propellers not rotating properly.

Every 30 wash cycles:

Wash without dishes, using detergent to clean the machine to remove grease and scale from the reservoir. Or start the "tank cleaning" program, if you have one.

When the dishwasher indicates it:

Fill the containers with salt and rinse aid. If you are using "all-in-one" tablets, this will not be necessary unless the water hardness is very high in your area. In this case, we recommend that you add salt to the tank.

  • Pour the salt into the salt container using a funnel.
  •  Don't forget to close the lid!

Which product should you use to clean the dishwasher?

Clean your dishwasher with products tested and recommended by the manufacturer.

The water softener is recommended in areas with very hard water. Its regular use, in addition to extending the useful life of the device, allows you to save energy on your bill.
